THE TWISTED ROAD TO WINE
We approach wine from an unusual perspective—ecology. In our later years, without family vineyards or cellars, we discovered the possibility of practicing environmentally friendly viticulture. We quickly became passionate about historic vineyards that were at risk of being uprooted due to their economic inefficiency, with their unique forms and grape varieties, and the stories of the countless hands that had worked with them and left their mark on those vines and trellises. We were captivated by the authentic and unique stories of the people who animate this world, who seem like characters from a novel, or a thousand novels. We were enchanted by the true flavors of the wines, the countless pieces of knowledge stored in every vineyard and bottle, in every person; the passion and desire to share that we found, and the genuine and unconventional stories surrounding this world.
We look at the past and tradition with respect, but we also enjoy venturing into uncharted territories, experimenting with grape varieties and unconventional winemaking techniques that might be described as imaginative.

We like to think that we can operate far from commercial logic, choosing instead to embrace the sincerity, life, and spontaneity of the people and stories we encounter along our journey.
The journey into the world of wine began with a small piece of uncultivated land, which became a “little vineyard,” planted with love and care in the municipality of Bomporto. Over time, old vineyards in Colombaro were added on lease, collaboration with the nearly century-old vineyard in Sorbara, and finally, the first owned vineyard in Navicello, consisting of a modern part and one that is about 65 years old.
Our approach in the cellar is minimalist. The philosophy is based on the total absence of sulfites, selected yeasts, filtration, fining, and temperature control. We prefer to let the unique character of the grapes and vineyards fully express itself in each bottle, guiding the musts in their transformation into wine with minimal intervention.

Our vision of wine goes beyond mere sensory pleasure. It is rooted in our social, ethical, and ecological beliefs. We believe that wine can and should be a tool to bring people together and create meaningful connections.
The wines of our region are not typically considered noble, and we feel it is our mission to reclaim this narrative. In these areas, wine is regarded as a faithful companion but rarely the absolute star.
Rather, it serves as a catalyst for moments of sharing and deep human connections. Wine becomes a bridge between people, making it easier to explore and appreciate the richness of individual experiences, intertwining different stories, backgrounds, and aspirations. With its subtle, understated magic, it eases tensions, fosters camaraderie, and highlights points of contact even between seemingly distant worlds. This is where its “distinctive nobility” lies.
